About Dog Barking Control Devices | Your #1 Resource for Anti-Barking Systems

One of the top reasons people give up their dog(s) or return an adopted dog, is because of barking. When this happens its a sad situation that likely leaves the dog totally confused & hurt with emotional scars that can last a lifetime.

Before you throw in the towel, we want to step in to help you find the solution to your problem. See, barking is your dog’s way of speaking. Some bark lots, some not at all, and some only need another dog to show them how to use their voice or join in a beautiful chorus of howls and barks!

Ok, maybe it’s just me that enjoys this sound but on the real, I’ve dealt with all of the above when it comes to barking.

But before we go any further, we feel it is important to mention right off that bat to remember that our dogs’ barks are their voices. What they are saying tells a lot if only we just listen! From warning us of an incoming stranger to boredom and sickness, your dog’s barking can have a host of meaning.

Our goal is not to stop them from barking but instead, like a talkative child unintentionally spreading your personal business everywhere (where my 5-year-old is at right now), to teach them the appropriate times to speak AND for what reasons they should speak.

Who Are We At Dog Barking Control Devices

marlinda_founder_at_dog_barking_control_devicesHey there! I’m Marlinda, the founder of Dog Barking Control Devices. Along with my husband, and now my daughter, we’ve rescued more than 10 dogs and have a zoo of animals.

Needless to say, we’re totally an animal family and dogs will always be a part of our lives (we currently have 7 dogs). It saddens and frustrates me to see so many animals in shelters for a whole host of reasons but the one thing that stands out to me is the lack of trying or/& seeking the right resources and education on people’s parts to find the solution.

My goal with this site is to help save dog owners from giving up on or having to torture themselves because of their dog’s barking. Yes, it is a real shock to be woken out of a deep sleep by barking. Yes, it is hard to deal with both being up that late because of your dog and having to function the next day…

FrankyBut its like bringing home a newborn baby. Its for us to TEACH our dogs when its ok to bark and when its not ok.

The problem is that communication can sometimes get confused because dogs and people speak two different languages and have two different perspectives on one issue.

Don’t worry. I’m here to help you! I’m also here to learn from you and grow as well. Together, we’re going to learn to create a balanced, happy home and environment where dogs and people can communicate effectively.

What Dog Barking Control Devices Is About

Do you or a neighbor have a loveable dog that just won’t stop barking? Are you at your witts end and looking for REAL but SAFE ways to get your dog to control their barking?

I’m glad you found us before you gave up on your pet. Hopefully, we can work together to help you create a balanced, happy environment for both you and your dog. Here at Dog Barking Control Devices, we are experts in controlling dog barking and are more than happy to share our experience with you.

Why We Created Dog Barking Control Devices

We’ve been around dogs for 10+ years (wow, seems like yesterday I would dream all day about owning a dog as a child because my parents won’t let me have one!). That means we’ve dealt with barking dogs for the same amount of time.

We also have experience rescuing dogs. Accessive barking is one of the top reasons that people give up their pups. We want to reduce this occurrence by showing you how you can easily and safely teach your dog to stop barking.

Some dogs bark a lot like chihuahuas while others are quieter like bulldogs (though they have quite a bark on them!) but under normal circumstances, they should bark sometimes. The amount of barking a dog does can be determined by its breed but not necessarily.

There are many reasons for dog barking:

  • trying to get their point across to you, other dogs or other animals
  • alert
  • fear
  • illness
  • boredom
  • mental or physical conditions
  • lack of exercise
  • and more!

eli_dog_barking_control_devices_owners_rescue_english_pointerMost dogs were bred for a specific purpose. For instance, English Pointers (like my handsome boy Eli to the left) were bred to mostly ‘point’ at prey instead of bark so they bark a lot less. On the other hand, Chihuahuas were bred to be companion dogs so much of their barking and sometimes even aggression tends to do with separation anxiety (who knew!).

Despite their instincts to bark more or less, most dogs will, and should, bark at some point. The environment also plays a huge factor in barking. For instance, if your home is noisy or you constantly yell at your dog it might learn to be noisy as well. Or if there are a lot of other dogs in your neighborhood that bark a lot, your dog might pick up the habit from them.

These are just a couple of examples but the scenarios can go on and on. Bottom line is that while barking might be annoying at times, it’s important to remember that it is your dog’s way of communicating. They might bark for many reasons that aren’t necessarily related to aggression.

This is a common misconception, that dogs bark only in aggression. Your pup will bark for many reasons including joy, excitement, and anxiousness to name a few instances.

Just like you have many vocal intonations when talking depending on your mood, so do dogs when they bark.

Our Mission at DogBarkingControlDevices.com

Because barking is an important part of your dog’s being, we want to make sure that you choose methods & devices that will control barking while keeping your dog(s) safe. Some devices like electric collars are very harmful to your dog and can cause a host of problems including but not limited to voice box irregularities to aggression.

This is why we consider these kinds of devices inhumane and never recommend them. At the end of the day, the choice is yours to make, but before you do I suggest you check this article out that exposes the truth about E-collars.

Other options like citronella collars and ultrasonic sound projectors are less harmful to your dog. They are more humane methods of training your dog to control it’s barking.

Remember that your dog has feelings too. If you abandon him/her, she will be very upset & may not trust anyone else. They also might end up being euthanized or starving to death like how we found our dog Eli before we rescued him.

They won’t understand because as we’ve mentioned previously, barking is their nature. That’s like giving up your kid(s) because they cry too much.

No way would you do that right?! Well please consider your dog in the same light. Not as a human child but as your precious doggie child.

If you ever need a hand or have any questions or needs, please never hesitate to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.
